Epicki pojedynek został zainspirowany kultowym filmem Ishiry Hondy King Kong vs. Godzilla, który zmierzył ze sobą dwóch tytanów już w 1962 roku. Nową wersję pojedynku stworzył Adam Wingard, reżyser słynnych You’re Next i The Guest lub Blair Witch. W rolach głównych wystąpią powracający z poprzedniego filmu Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler czy Ziyi Zhang. Nowe postaci reprezentować będą Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Eiza Gonzalez, Demian Bichir, Brian Tyree Henry i Jessica Henwick.
Premiera jest zaplanowana na 26 marca, nie wiadomo jednak czy do tej pory kina w Polsce zostaną otwarte. Za oceanem film ukaże się jednocześnie w kinach i na antenie HBO Max. Niestety usługa w Polsce będzie dostępna najwcześniej w drugiej połowie roku.
